The mission of the Fugitive Location and Apprehension Group (F.L.A.G.) is to promote a collaborated multi-agency effort to identify, investigate, and apprehend dangerous federal, state and local fugitives in the Denver-metropolitan/Front Range area. Also to encourage maximum cooperation between all law enforcement and prosecutorial agencies, and insuring the safety of both law enforcement personnel and the public, accomplished in an efficient manner within constitutional guidelines. ABOUT F.L.A.G. The Fugitive Location and Apprehension Group (F.L.A.G.) was formed in January 2000 as a cooperative effort to address some of the more than 21,000 outstanding Felony warrants in the state of Colorado. Partially funded by an initiative through the Rocky Mountain High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) grant, FLAG is mandated to focus it's investigative efforts on fugitives that have outstanding felony warrants for drug or violence-related crimes. In the first year of operation (2000), FLAG members were involved in 473 arrests. In 2001, FLAG investigators cleared 520 felony warrants. FLAG is presently comprised of investigators from the following eight agencies.
The head of each participating agency, or their designee, acts as a member of the supervising Board of Directors. The board meets quarterly to review the recent activity of the unit and address issues that affect the operation of the Task Force. FLAG also produces the "Colorado Twenty Most Wanted" which is an effort to solicit information from citizens on fugitives that are known to have a Colorado connection.
